Principal's Report - 22 May 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your wonderful vibes & commitment to our school.  We are mid-way through term 2, which means interviews & finalising enrolments for 2026.  I confirm siblings families are on our list, but please touch-base with the office to know your next steps in the process.

Of recent, I have received many compliments to be passed on to our school community:

“Everyone is so welcoming & helpful.” - New Parent

“Staff really love what they do.” - Community Member

“I know St. Rita’s School & I miss it. Thank you for sharing your events on Facebook. It is a special school like no other.” - Parent Alumni

“St. Rita’s is a great school. I am so blessed to work here.” - Staff member

The Mother’s Day gathering was a joy-filled occasion and I sincerely thank the St. Rita’s Staff and helpers for putting their heart & soul into making it memorable for others.

The deep sense of care for others which my colleagues show, continues to fill my heart with pride & joy.

As captain of the ship, I am privileged to serve at a school which has;

  • Wonderful academic & wellbeing outcomes,
  • Outstanding engagement,
  • Innovative pathways to learning,
  • Strong sense of equity & inclusivity, and
  • A community that deeply cares about its sailors.

Assembly today with Simultaneous Storytime was totally super cool.  Thank you all for bringing the learning & laughter to the novel, ‘The Truck Cat’.  And congratulations to our students receiving St. Rita’s Value Awards of Respect, Community, Faith, Learning, Justice.  Very proud! Look out for some great images of Simulaneous Storytime next week on Facebook.

Very proud of our Readers’ Cup Team who will be competing next month in Cairns.  Well done Rome, Jake, Rocco and Luke.  Hard work & grit shown here in learning. Keep it up boys!

Being in a Catholic School is fantastic as we celebrate our Patron Saint - St. Rita’s Feast Day next Wednesday.  Prep to Year 6 are off to our sister school in Babinda to rock it, and then off to the movies to see the Charles Dickens Classic ‘King of Kings’.

I am very excited to come together at our School Parish Mass next Saturday, 31st May 6pm at St. Rita’s Church, followed by cuppa & activities in the Cascia Centre.  If you are in town, come and celebrate with us.  Students are excited to take upon community leadership roles at mass, then celebrate with friendship vibes in the Cascia Centre.  Families, please bring a plate to share.

Alleluia Alleluia for Pope Leo XVI who wished all ‘Peace Blessings’.

Forward to a Better World, Mrs Bryan.
