Dear Parents and Carers, 

Welcome back to Term 4!

World Mission Month

October is recognised as World Mission Month, in which people are invited to pray for and support missionary work. This year’s theme, “Missionaries of Hope among all Peoples,” invites us to reflect on how we can bring hope through faith and action.

In Week 2, we are excited to welcome Yoa Diaz, Director of Catholic Mission Australia, to St Rita’s. Yoa will present to each class and guide them through, a virtual reality experience that allows them to “walk in the shoes” of those we are supporting through Socktober 2025. This year, funds raised through Socktober will support the Diocese of Mpika in Zambia, where Catholic Mission is helping to improve food security and maternal health.

In Week 3, Fr Kerry will visit classrooms to engage with students about their Religious Education learning. This will be followed by our annual ‘Socktober Kicking for Goals’ event. Students are invited to wear colourful socks or create their own using socks from home. We kindly ask each student to bring a coin donation to support this important cause.
