News from our Deputy Principal, Leader of Learning and Teaching/Diversity - 19 June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of another vibrant term, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support and dedication. Your involvement in your child’s learning journey—especially through reading and homework—has a profound impact. When children witness their parents valuing literacy, it nurtures a love for learning and sparks remarkable growth.

The past few weeks have been a hive of activity, with students immersing themselves in their end-of-term writing assessments. It’s always a privilege to witness their creativity and progress firsthand. I’ve had the joy of listening to many students proudly share their work—Alayna and Luca from Prep presented their informative reports on the Ulysses Butterfly and the Cassowary, while Year 2 students Otis, Eli, Natalie, William, and Aurora showcased their research on Dugongs. In Year 1, I was delighted to hear engaging reports on the native Australian Dingo.

A particularly special moment occurred just yesterday when Otis from Year 2 arrived with an independently written and illustrated report on Sharks, created at home. Moments like these—when a child takes initiative and embraces the role of author—are truly inspiring and affirm the power of nurturing curiosity and confidence.

Report Cards

Don’t forget, all going well with the new system, your child/ren’s report cards will be available through the MyCE app in TLD next Thursday, June 26.

Make sure you have downloaded the MyCE app and have had some use of it before Thursday. MyCE_A4_Poster.pdf
